The most famous location is Kajang (30 minutes south of KL), known as Malaysia's 'satay capital,' where Satay Hj Samuri has been serving since the 1950s.
Malaysian satay differs from Indonesian and Thai versions: the peanut sauce is thicker and sweeter, and the meat is marinated in turmeric-based paste giving it a distinctive yellow colour.
